How to Fish

Tomo-Zuri System

This is how to fish.

First, gently hold the live decoy ayu in your hand. Prepare for fishing by attaching a nose ring and a reverse hook in the net. Our guide will assist you or instruct you on how to do it.

Once you’ve attached the nose ring to the fish’s nose and inserted the reverse hook near the tail fin, you can let the bait swim in the river.

To allow the ayu to swim naturally, it’s important not to tighten the line too much. However, you’ll need to control the movement of the ayu with the tip of the rod to explore many points. Be cautious not to move it too vigorously, as it may tire out the ayu and cause it to stop swimming

Clothes

The riverbed moss can be slippery, so we provide ayu tabi (specialized shoes) for better traction. It’s also essential to wear sunglasses to improve visibility on the water’s surface while keeping a net handy on your waist.

It’s a good idea to prepare quick-drying shorts that can handle getting wet, along with a hat and sunscreen. For the tour, we provide a net, rod, belt, wading shoes, and wading socks for your convenience.
